SHIPPING POLICY

  1. Processing & Shipping

Our books are printed on demand through our trusted printing partner, BookVault. This means each book is printed specifically for you when you place your order, ensuring the freshest quality and eliminating waste.

  • Print-on-Demand Paperbacks: Typically require 3-5 business days for printing before shipment

  • Special Edition Hardcovers: Pre-printed and ready to ship within 24 hours of order placement

  • eBooks: Delivered instantly via email immediately after your order is completed

We offer FREE Standard Shipping on all orders within the Continental United States. Delivery takes 7-14 days after dispatch. You may check the tracking information provided via email.


We also ship worldwide through BookVault's global printing network, which includes facilities in the UK, US, Australia, and Canada to optimize delivery times and reduce environmental impact.

  • UK and Europe: 3-5 business days after dispatch

  • Canada: 7-14 business days after dispatch

  • Australia: 6-14 business days after dispatch

  • Rest of World: 6-14 business days after dispatch

  • Central/South America: 7-21 business days after dispatch

Shipping charges for international orders are calculated at checkout and vary based on your location and selected shipping method.

Important Note for International Orders: Orders shipped internationally may be sent via DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), which means import duties, taxes, and customs fees are the customer's responsibility upon delivery.

  1. Delivery Completion & Customer Responsibility

Delivery is considered complete when the goods arrive at the delivery location specified on your order. It is your responsibility to inspect your order immediately upon delivery to ensure it meets your expectations and specifications.

Please Note: Time of delivery is not guaranteed. While we strive for timely delivery, Lighthouse Lane Books is not liable for any delays in delivery, however caused, due to the print-on-demand nature of our products and variables in international shipping.


  1. Order Tracking

You'll receive tracking information via email once your order has been printed and dispatched. If you haven't received tracking information within 5 business days of your order, please contact us at support@lighthouselanebooks.com.

  1. Shipping Address Accuracy

Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate at checkout. We cannot be held responsible for orders shipped to incorrect addresses provided by the customer. If you need to update your shipping address, contact us immediately at support@lighthouselanebooks.com before your order enters production.

  1. Order Quantity & Combined Shipments

In rare cases of quantity variations (overs or unders), we will make a pro-rata adjustment to your invoice or issue credit. Orders may be combined and shipping services upgraded at our discretion; any additional charges will be agreed upon before dispatch.

RETURNS POLICY

  1. Important: Returns Are Only Accepted for Faulty Goods

Because our books are printed on demand specifically for each customer, we do NOT accept returns for:

✗ "Change of mind"

✗ Ordering the wrong format or cover type

✗ Books in perfect condition

✗ Digital products (all sales final once access is granted)

✗ Books showing any signs of use

✗ Special orders, personalized, or signed books (unless defective)

Returns are ONLY accepted for faulty goods as defined below.

  1. What Qualifies as "Faulty Goods"?

Faulty goods are defined as manufacturing faults occurring outside of the normal digital printing process, including:

✓ Printing defects (misprints, ink issues, missing pages)

✓ Physical damage from manufacturing (torn pages, binding issues)

✓ Incorrect items shipped (wrong title, format, or edition)

Please Note: Print-on-demand books may have slight variations from traditionally offset-printed books. Minor variations in color or finish are not considered defects.

  1. CRITICAL: Reporting Timeframes

You must report issues within these strict timeframes or your claim will not be accepted:

  • Faulty Goods (manufacturing defects): Within 3 working days of delivery

  • Damage or Partial Loss in Transit: Within 3 working days of delivery

  • Non-Delivery: Within 7 working days of dispatch

IMPORTANT: If no claim is made within the above timeframes, the goods will be deemed accepted in all respects, and you will be bound to accept and pay for them. No exceptions.

How to Report Faulty Goods

Step 1: Contact Customer Support Immediately

Email: support@lighthouselanebooks.com

Timeframe: Within 3 working days of delivery (for faulty goods or transit damage)

Step 2: Provide Complete Documentation

Your email must include:

  • Your order number (and BookVault reference number starting with "BV" if available)

  • Item(s) affected (title, ISBN, quantity)

  • Detailed description of the defect or damage

  • Clear, high-quality photos showing: the specific defect or damage, multiple angles of the issue, the exterior packaging (if damaged in transit), the full item to show context

Step 3: Await Review & Resolution

Our customer support team will review your claim. We reserve the right to request the return of the item for inspection.

If your claim is found valid:

  • Replacement: We will reprint and ship a replacement at no charge

  • Refund: We will issue a full refund to your original payment method

  • Return postage refund: If we request return for inspection, we will refund return shipping costs


If we cannot agree on whether the goods are defective, the British Print Industry Federation (BPiF) will be consulted, and their decision will be final.

Step 4: Return Process (If Required)

If we need the item returned for inspection, we will provide:

  • Return authorization number

  • Return shipping address (directly to our printing partner)

  • Detailed return instructions

For valid claims, return postage costs will be refunded once the return is received and inspected.

  1. Refund Processing

Once a valid claim is approved, refunds will be processed within 5-7 days and will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow 5-10 days of funds to appear (bank dependent). You will receive an email confirmation once the refund is processed.

  1. Customer Payment Standing

Lighthouse Lane Books reserves the right to:

  • Withhold delivery if customer is not in good payment standing

  • Cancel or suspend deliveries if customer insolvency is suspected

  • Require immediate payment of outstanding sums in such cases
